(December, 2004, Miami Beach,
Florida) Art Miami celebrates its 15th annual
edition at the Miami Beach Convention Center from
January 6th – 10th, 2005. New exhibitors, new
sponsors, and new owners pair up with show director
Ilana Vardy’s team to present one of the most dynamic
years in the fair’s history.
“I am pleased to have the opportunity to continue
developing Art Miami as an integral part of the
exciting South Florida art market. We look forward to
providing even greater service and quality to our
exhibitors and loyal visitors. Exciting projects,
stimulating panel discussions, collector programs, and
a broad spectrum of modern and contemporary art will
entice both new and established buyers next January,”
said Vardy.
While Art
Miami continues its vital role in supporting important
and emerging Latin American artists, the 2005 show
also offers a broad mix of galleries with emphasis on
American and European contemporary art, featuring high
quality painting, sculpture, photography, and
installations from emerging talent to established
masters. The sixth annual Currents section
expands in 2005 to feature a very international group
of galleries showing primarily young, cutting-edge
artists, while provocative Project Spaces throughout
the show will highlight a diverse range of
installations by artists from South Africa, Ireland,
Poland, and Spain, to name a few.
Art Miami welcomes many outstanding new
participants to the fair, including Chiaroscuro
Gallery from Santa Fe, NM; Galeria de Arte
Carmen de la Guerra, Madrid; Martin du Louvre
from Paris; and Spanierman Gallery from New
York. Art Miami is also pleased to welcome back
important exhibitors that have been on recent hiatus,
including Forum Gallery, New York/Los Angeles;
Jerald Melberg Gallery, Charlotte, NC;
Alexia Goethe and Flowers from London.
A selection of the country’s top glass dealers
participate for the first time, offering visitors a
remarkable look at this sought-after medium.
Participants include Heller Gallery from New
York, Marx-Saunders Gallery from Chicago,
Berengo Fine Art from Murano, Italy and R.
Duane Reed from St. Louis and New York.
“Art Miami continues to get stronger, and we’re
really looking forward to welcoming both old friends
and new to the show this January,” stated show
director Ilana Vardy.
